Start here: what belongs in DTF & DTG

This is the board for direct-to-film and direct-to-garment — the two processes that let a small shop print full-color, photo-real designs without burning a single screen. Gang sheets, powder cure, pretreatment, heat-press specs: all fair game.

Some ground truths to get you started:

• DTF lives and dies by the cure. Under-cured powder peels in the wash; over-cured film goes brittle and cracks. Dial your oven or press to the powder spec and confirm with a test wash before you trust a run.
• DTG on darks is a pretreatment game. The white underbase is sprayed pretreat + white ink. Uneven pretreat = patchy, dull color. Even coat, proper cure, then print.
• Gang your sheets. DTF film is priced by the sheet — nesting several designs onto one sheet is the single biggest way to cut your film cost. Rotate and tuck.
• Press pressure is a real variable. Firm, even pressure for the full dwell. A soft press is the #1 cause of "it washed off."

How to ask a good question: name the film/powder or the printer + pretreat, your press temp/time/pressure, and the fabric. A photo of the peel or the cracking after a wash test is gold — attach it on the thread so we can see exactly what happened.
