Understanding Subscription Tiers
What is included in each Kontrol™ plan, how to upgrade, and what happens when you hit your limits.
Three tiers for every shop size
Kontrol™ offers three subscription tiers: Starter for shops just getting organized, Professional for growing operations, and Enterprise for high-volume shops that need everything. All tiers include the core platform — jobs, customers, invoicing, calendar, production queue, and customer portal. The difference is in team size, automations, integrations, and advanced features.
Starter — For new shops
The Starter tier is designed for shops with a small team getting started with digital job management. It includes up to 3 user seats, 100 jobs per month, basic email automations, the customer portal, and email support. This tier gives you everything you need to run jobs from quote to payment without paper or spreadsheets.
Professional — For growing shops
The Professional tier is for shops that are scaling up. It includes up to 10 user seats, unlimited jobs, SMS and email automations, API access, webhooks, AssetLab™ seller portal, custom invoice branding, and priority support. Most shops that have outgrown spreadsheets land here.
Enterprise — For high-volume operations
The Enterprise tier is for shops running multiple presses, large teams, or multi-location operations. It includes unlimited user seats, unlimited jobs, AI-powered scheduling, white-label branding, custom integrations, a dedicated account manager, and SLA guarantees. Contact sales for Enterprise pricing.
How to upgrade
Go to Settings > Billing > Subscription. You will see your current tier, usage, and available upgrades. Click 'Upgrade' next to the tier you want. Billing is prorated — you only pay the difference for the remainder of your current billing period. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.
- 1Go to Settings > Billing > Subscription
- 2Review your current tier and usage
- 3Click 'Upgrade' next to the desired tier
- 4Confirm the prorated charge
- 5New features are available immediately after upgrade
What happens when you hit a limit?
You receive email alerts at 80% and 100% of your usage limits (seats, storage, SMS messages). When you hit 100%, the gated resource stops working until you upgrade or the next billing period starts. For example, if you hit your SMS limit, outbound SMS pauses but the rest of the platform continues working normally. Overage charges apply for storage and SMS — rates are listed on your billing page.
Check your usage regularly in Settings > Billing. The usage dashboard shows real-time counts for every metered resource so you are never surprised by a limit.
