Film Export — Details, Registration Marks & Layout
Configure film exports with 13 detail options, 5 registration mark styles, and full layout controls for page size, crop marks, and info placement.
Film detail options
When exporting films, you can toggle 13 individual details on or off. These include: • Channel name • Mesh count recommendation • LPI (lines per inch) • Screen angle • Dot shape • Halftone applied badge • Color swatch • Coverage percentage • Ink assignment • Print order number • Job number • Date • Notes Toggle only the details your screen department needs. Less clutter on the film means less confusion on the press.
Registration mark styles
KloudSeps™ supports 5 registration mark styles: • Bullseye — standard concentric circles (most common) • Corner L — L-shaped marks at each corner • Star — star-shaped alignment marks • Micro — small crosshair marks for tight registration • Custom SVG — upload your own registration mark design Each style can be placed at any of 8 positions around the film using the placement grid.
Registration mark controls
Fine-tune your registration marks with: • Size: how large the marks appear on the film • Weight: line thickness of the mark • Offset: distance from the artwork edge • Position: 8-position grid (top-left, top-center, top-right, middle-left, middle-right, bottom-left, bottom-center, bottom-right) These controls ensure your marks align with your shop's screen alignment system.
Film layout options
Control the overall film layout: • Page size: standard film sizes or custom dimensions • Crop marks: toggle on/off, adjust weight • Color bar: reference bar for exposure verification • Info placement: where the channel name and details appear on the film (top, bottom, left, right) These layout options work with all export formats (Film PDF, standard PNG/TIFF, and CTS Pre-RIP).
If you use a CTS (Computer-to-Screen) system, use Pre-RIP export formats instead of standard film export. Pre-RIP skips the halftone step so your CTS software applies its own screen. See the Export Formats guide for details.
