KloudSeps™ Export Formats & CTS Workflow
Understand every export format in KloudSeps™ — from standard halftoned film ZIPs to CTS pre-RIP PDFs for Computer-to-Screen systems like M&R I-Image, Wasatch, and EFI Fiery.
Standard Film ZIP formats
PNG (300 dpi halftoned) is the default output — one PNG per channel, bundled in a ZIP with a manifest.json. TIFF 600 dpi and TIFF 1200 dpi (LZW compressed) are available for shops needing higher-resolution film positives for output to a Raster Image Processor (RIP) or laser film printer at higher dot-per-inch settings.
Film PDF — email-ready handoff
Film PDF exports all halftoned channels as a single multi-page PDF, one page per color. Each page includes a labeled header showing the channel name, mesh count, LPI, screen angle, dot shape, and a 'HALFTONE APPLIED' badge. Under 25 MB for typical jobs — attach directly to an email or link from a Kontrol™ job without needing an external file host.
CTS Pre-RIP formats (for Computer-to-Screen systems)
Shops using CTS systems (M&R I-Image, Wasatch SoftRIP, EFI Fiery, Exile RIP) should use Pre-RIP PNG, Pre-RIP TIFF, or CTS PDF. These formats skip KloudSeps™'s built-in halftone — they deliver continuous-tone grayscale so the CTS software's own RIP applies its halftone algorithm (AM, FM, or hybrid). DO NOT use standard PNG/TIFF/Film PDF with a CTS system — the halftone will be applied twice, ruining the output.
CTS PDF — multi-page for CTS import
CTS PDF is the recommended format for most CTS operators. It packages all channels as a multi-page PDF with a red 'PRE-RIP — DO NOT RE-SCREEN IN CTS' warning on every page. Import it into your CTS software's job queue and let the RIP apply its own screen. Compatible with M&R I-Image, Wasatch SoftRIP, EFI Fiery RIP, and Exile RIP.
Ink inventory & channel assignment
In the Channels panel, expand any channel and use the Ink Assignment dropdown to link it to an ink from your Kontrol™ ink inventory. This ties ink usage and coverage data back to job costing and helps your screen department pull the right ink for each station.
