InkRelay™ Pricing & Licensing
Pricing overview
InkRelay™ is included FREE with every active Kontrol™ subscription, regardless of tier. If you are not a Kontrol™ subscriber, standalone plans are available: • Monthly — $14.99/month • Annual — $149/year (save 17%) Both standalone plans include the full 21+ tool suite with no feature restrictions.
Machine activations
Each InkRelay™ license supports 2 simultaneous machine activations. This means you can run the plugin on your studio desktop and a laptop, for example. If you need to move an activation to a different machine, deactivate the old one first from your account dashboard or via the plugin settings panel.
How activation works
When you first launch InkRelay™ in Illustrator, you will be prompted to sign in. • Kontrol™ subscribers — sign in with your Kontrol™ account credentials. Your license is activated automatically. • Standalone subscribers — enter the license key from your purchase confirmation email. The plugin validates your license via API and issues a token that refreshes every 7 days. You do not need to be online continuously — just once every 7 days to revalidate.
What happens if I cancel Kontrol™?
If your Kontrol™ subscription is cancelled, InkRelay™ continues to work for a 7-day grace period. After that, the plugin will prompt you to either resubscribe to Kontrol™ or purchase a standalone InkRelay™ subscription to continue using it. Your tool presets, ink libraries, and saved configurations are preserved regardless of license status.
If you only need the Illustrator tools and not the full shop management platform, the standalone annual plan at $149/year is the most cost-effective option.
License API endpoints
InkRelay™ license management uses three API endpoints: • POST /api/inkrelay/activate — register a machine activation • POST /api/inkrelay/validate — validate and refresh the license token • POST /api/inkrelay/deactivate — release a machine activation slot These endpoints are used automatically by the plugin. You do not need to call them manually unless building a custom integration.
