How to Use Barcode Scanning for Inventory Receiving

Supported scanners

Kontrol™ works with any USB barcode scanner (acts as keyboard input), your device's camera (browser-based scanning), or manual barcode entry. No special hardware required.

Receiving a shipment

1. 1Go to Inventory → Receiving and click Receive Shipment.
2. 2Scan a barcode on the packing slip or individual item — the system matches it to your purchase order.
3. 3Confirm the quantity received matches the expected amount.
4. 4Flag any discrepancies (short shipment, wrong item, damaged goods).
5. 5Click Complete Receiving to update your inventory counts.

Automatic matching

When you scan a barcode, Kontrol™ looks up the item across your open purchase orders and matches it automatically. If the barcode isn't recognized, you can manually link it to a product for future scans.
