Laser Material Inventory
Track raw materials for laser engraving and cutting — wood, acrylic, metal, leather, glass, fabric, and stone.
Overview
The Laser Materials module tracks your raw material stock for laser engraving and cutting. Each material record stores type, thickness, sheet dimensions, unit cost, price per square inch, supplier, and bin location. Low-stock alerts notify admins when quantities drop below the reorder point.
Adding a Material
- 1Navigate to Laser Materials in the sidebar (visible when the Laser nav preset is active).
- 2Click Add Material and fill in the name, material type, thickness, and sheet dimensions.
- 3Set the unit cost and price per square inch for cost calculations.
- 4Set a reorder point and reorder quantity for low-stock alerts.
- 5Click Add Material to save.
Recording Adjustments
Every stock change — restocking from a supplier or consuming material for a job — is recorded as an adjustment with a reason and optional job link. This creates an audit trail for inventory accuracy.
- 1Click on any material to open the detail view.
- 2Choose Restock or Consume.
- 3Enter the quantity and a reason (e.g., "Restocked from Amazon order" or "Used for job #4521").
- 4Click Log Restock or Log Usage.
Link adjustments to jobs so you can track material costs per project.
Supported Material Types
Wood, Acrylic, Metal (anodized aluminum), Leather, Glass, Fabric, Stone/Slate, and Other. Each type has different engraving speeds and cost multipliers in the pricing engine.
